Sharon Charlton-Thomson
Before training to be a psychotherapist I worked in Advertising and travelled extensively around the world working in different cultures and traditions.
My passion for therapy has not only been informed by the challenges that I have faced in my own life but from some formative experiences early on in my career working overseas in the third sector, with disabled and underprivileged children and families.

In 1998 I started training in Psychotherapy. First as a group therapist and then many years of training in trauma, relationships and loss, working with individuals, couples and families.
For almost 30 years I have worked across many sectors, including education and mental health settings, and with voluntary and private organisations. I also work in the corporate sector offering executive coaching, key note speaking and consultancy. In 2000 I moved out of London to Bath and set up in private practice
Over the years, my practice has been shaped by extensive training, ongoing personal inquiry, and a deep commitment to supporting others in their inner work.
I continue to be fascinated in how we develop as human beings and what it takes to have emotional health.
I am a fully accredited UKCP psychotherapist and abide by their code of ethics.

What working together looks like
Therapy starts with finding the right therapist to work with.
I offer a free 30-minute introductory session to help with this.
During this time, we can look at the reasons that have brought you into therapy, I can answer any questions you may have about myself and my work. If, after that session, we decide to continue, we would have a trial period of six further sessions and on the sixth session we would review the work you have done thus far and explore if therapy is helpful for you. If we decide it is, then subsequent sessions are 60 minutes and are held weekly on the same day and time each week.
