What type of therapy do I offer?

There are so many different types of therapy it can be confusing to know which type is right for you. 

My main ways of working are informed by Core Process Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems Psychotherapy

I am also trained in Pre and Perinatal Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Family Systemic Therapy and Couples Therapy. 

Core Process Psychotherapy is the original Mindfulness based psychotherapy in the UK.

The word ‘Core’ describes the freedom, ease and joy that lies in the heart of our human beingness, available to all of us.

‘Process’ refers to the way that this Core becomes obscured and out of reach to us through the events of our lives, meaning that we have to adapt to meet the individual conditions of our lives and to survive.

It is a contemplative approach to therapy integrating Buddhist Dharma and Western psychological theories helping to bring awareness to the unconscious aspects of our being, the stuff that can have us feel most stuck. It is a trauma based, long term, somatic therapy.

It helps us to connect to the deepest parts of ourselves, providing the greatest opportunity for our learning, our growth and our healing.

Internal Family Systems Pschotherapy

IFS psychotherapy is Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a type of psychotherapy that views the mind as consisting of multiple “parts” or sub-personalities, each with its own unique perspective and qualities. The key idea is that beneath these parts lies a calm, compassionate, and undamaged “Self”. IFS therapy aims to help individuals understand and integrate these parts, fostering healing and internal harmony.

I work with compassion, integrity, warmth and mindfulness to help my clients orientate to the health and healing within them, to reclaim their Core.
